Surrogacy / Surrogate, Egg Donation, Sperm Donation Attorneys: Skilled, Confidential Help from National Network of Experienced Lawyers
Attorney Thomas M. Pinkerton, Partner
Attorney Thomas M. Pinkerton has devoted his entire law practice solely to assisted reproduction law, including all legal aspects of surrogacy, egg donation, and sperm donation, for over a decade. He is a nationally recognized expert in this unique area of law, and has lectured, written, made numerous television appearances, and given frequent interviews and legal commentary on assisted parenthood. He is known for his uniquely insightful legal approaches that have brought about many advances in this important and fast-changing area of law.
Tom graduated from the University of San Diego College of Law in 1987 and became a partner in a law firm emphasizing civil litigation and contracts. In 1990, he obtained the first surrogate paternity judgment ever issued by the San Diego Superior Court to a San Diego resident. It directed the health department to list Tom and his wife Darlene as the original parents on the birth certificate of their genetic daughter Kaitlin, who, following in vitro fertilization, was carried by a surrogate, Tom's sister. From this positive experience grew Tom's passion and expertise in surrogacy, egg donation, and sperm donation law, and he began focusing his law practice on helping other infertile couples pursue their dreams of parenthood.
